Week 4: Time to establish yourself as THE expert in your space

Reader,

We're in the home stretch! Week 4 is where you go from "helpful business person" to "THE person everyone thinks of in your industry."

This week's focus: Thought Leadership

You've built authority, shown proof, and created genuine connections. Now it's time to be the person who calls out industry BS, predicts what's coming next, and sets the standard for how things should be done.

This is your week to be BOLD. To take stands. To say what everyone else is thinking but afraid to say out loud.

Here's your posting schedule for the week:

  • Day 22: Strategic Promotional Thread (drive to services/booking page with UTM tracking)
  • Days 23, 27, 29: Industry Observation Threads (call out problems boldly)
  • Days 24, 26: Power Statement Threads (take strong positions)
  • Days 25, 28: Funny or Relatable Threads (memes work great!)
  • Day 30: Experience/Client Thread + Challenge celebration

5 Example Posts to Get You Started:

Day 22 - Strategic Promotional Example:
"After a booked out spring, I'm finally opening up 3 spots for new agency clients.

But I'm not taking just anyone. If you want to work with someone who has a track record of helping clients live launch with an average of 7x returns, let's talk.

Book a consultation here: [yourwebsite.com/consultation?utm_source=threads&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=august_challenge]."

Industry Observation Examples (Days 23, 27, 29):
"The online business coaching industry has a real scam problem.

And we're all pretending it's normal.

$997 courses with no real strategy. Income claims as a means for marketing and marketing only. 'Coaches' who've never actually run a profitable business.

It's time we start calling this out instead of just competing with it.

Your potential clients deserve better than empty promises and recycled content."

Power Statement Examples (Days 24, 26):
"I'm done pretending that 'anyone can be an entrepreneur.'

Not everyone should run a business. And that's OKAY.

Some people are amazing employees. Some people thrive with structure and stability. Some people don't want the stress and uncertainty.

Stop shaming people for choosing security. Start celebrating people for knowing themselves."

Funny/Relatable Examples (Days 25, 28):
"Me: 'I'm going to create 30 days of content this weekend'

Also me: creates 3 posts and decides I deserve a Netflix break

Monday morning: 'Surely I can wing this entire week' 😅

Why are we like this? Someone explain."

Day 30 - Challenge Wrap-up + Experience:
"30 days ago, I challenged y'all on threads to post strategically instead of randomly.

Here's what I've seen:

  • Authority threads that sparked real conversations
  • Vulnerable posts that built genuine connections
  • Bold takes that separated you from everyone else

But the real win? You showed up. Every single day. For 30 days straight.

That consistency is what separates the pros from the pretenders. You're not the same person who started this challenge.

If you participated drop a comment and tell me: What was your biggest breakthrough this month? 👇"

Your Week 4 Action Plan:

  1. Take strong positions on industry issues that matter to you
  2. Call out specific problems you see (without naming names)
  3. Share your vision for how the industry could be better
  4. Make predictions based on your experience and observations
  5. End strong with your mission and what you stand for
  6. Celebrate the challenge completion - this was no small feat!

For complete content examples, prompts and thread links, refer to your 30-Day Challenge Guide.

The goal this week: Become the person your ideal clients think of when they need your expertise.

When someone asks on threads "Who should I follow for [your topic]?" you want to be the first name that comes to mind.

By Day 30, you should have a clear reputation for:

  • Challenging industry BS
  • Providing real, actionable value
  • Doing X the right way (your skillset or knowledge)
  • Standing for something
  • Proving that you know your ISH

This is your moment to lead.

Your audience has been watching you for 3 weeks. They trust your expertise, they like you as a person, and now they're ready to follow your vision for the industry.

Show them what leadership looks like.

Talk soon,
Melissa

P.S. Remember to celebrate on Day 30! You'll have posted 30 threads in 30 days, built genuine authority, driven measurable traffic, and probably grown your following more than you expected. That's no small feat. Be proud of what you've accomplished and use this momentum to keep going.

Reader, You know that feeling when you write something that just hits and suddenly everyone's sharing it? That happened to me yesterday with this random thought about my satin pillow judging my greasy retinol face. One relatable moment turned into 30+ threads that all had the same energy (because I literally couldn't sleep until I brain dumped these new threads). Here's the thing - I've been feeling like my threads were getting way too serious lately. Between the political climate and...
