Week 1: August Threads Challenge - Time to build your foundation

Reader,

Welcome to Week 1 of our 30-Day Threads Challenge! I'm SO excited to see what you create this week.

This week's focus: Foundation Building

Before you can scale, before you can gain traction, before you can build that dream business - you need a solid foundation. This week, we're establishing you as the expert who does things the RIGHT way while everyone else is chasing shortcuts.

Here's your posting schedule for the week:

  • Day 1: Strategic Promotional Thread (drive to your best free resource - use UTM tracking!)
  • Days 2, 4: Power Statement Threads (challenge common misconceptions)
  • Days 3, 5: Experience/Client Threads (share your expertise)
  • Day 6: Funny or relatable thread (memes are perfect for this!)
  • Day 7: Industry Observation Thread (call out what you're seeing)

5 Example Posts to Get You Started:

Day 1 - Strategic Promotional Example:
"I just dropped a new blog post about why 90% of organic content isn't converting.

After analyzing 300+ failed funnels, I found the same 3 mistakes every time.

Link in bio + comments (worth the 5-minute read)

[yourwebsite.com/organic-mistakes?utm_source=threads&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=august_challenge]"

Power Statement Examples (Days 2, 4):

"If you can't sell 10 people your offer organically, you're not ready for ads.

I see this every day - entrepreneurs jumping straight to paid traffic because they think it's easier than building an organic foundation.

Here's the thing: Ads amplify what's already working. If your offer doesn't convert organically, throwing money at it won't fix the problem."

Experience Thread Examples (Days 3, 5):
"After years of running campaigns, here's what I know:

The clients who haggle over price will blame you for their results.

Every. Single. Time.

They're already looking for someone else to blame when things don't go perfectly. Save yourself the headache and work with people who value your expertise."

Funny/Relatable Example (Day 6):

[Share a meme or relatable moment about business struggles]
"Me trying to explain to my family what I do for work...

'So you... help people sell things... on the internet?'

Every family gathering. Without fail. 😅"

Industry Observation Example (Day 7):
"'Free strategy call' = You're about to get pitched for 45 minutes after 5 minutes of strategy

We've all been there. You book the call thinking you'll get actual help.

Instead, you get a sales presentation disguised as advice.

Real experts give value upfront. Always."

Your Week 1 Action Plan:

  1. Start with promotion on Day 1 - Get comfortable driving traffic with UTM tracking from the beginning
  2. Use these prompts as inspiration - make them your own with your experience and expertise
  3. Don't skip the funny/relatable content - this is where people connect with your personality
  4. Engage with every comment like you're talking to a friend
  5. Track what resonates - especially note which promotional thread performs best and which content type so you can do MORE of those

For the complete content examples, prompts and templates, refer to your 30-Day Challenge Guide.

Remember: You're not just posting content. You're building authority systematically. Foundation first, personality included, traffic-driving from day one.

One thread a day. Seven days straight. You've got this.

Hit reply and let me know what your Day 1 promotional thread is going to be about - I love seeing what y'all come up with!

Talk soon,
Melissa

P.S. Don't overthink the promotional thread on Day 1. Pick your best blog post, podcast interview etc, add UTM tracking, and share it with a value-first approach. You'll get better at this throughout the month!

Reader, You know that feeling when you write something that just hits and suddenly everyone's sharing it?
