3 Ad Insights You Can Use Today (No Matter Your Budget)

Hiiiii Reader!

I’ve been reviewing some of the most common questions I’ve been receiving about Meta ads lately, and I noticed a few recurring themes that might be helpful for you too. Whether you’re just getting started with ads or looking to optimize your current campaigns, here are three practical insights that could make a real difference:

1. Not All Ad Campaigns Need a Big Budget
One of the biggest misconceptions I see is that effective ad campaigns require thousands of dollars (but expectations do matter). The truth? You can start testing with as little as $1-5 per day using what I call “micro campaigns”:

Put $1/day behind your best-performing organic posts to extend their reach to new audiences.
Drive targeted traffic to your podcast or blog starting at just $1 per piece of content.
Boost video views and profile visits with a simple $5/day campaign that introduces you and your content.

These micro-approaches let you gather data and see what resonates before scaling up. Remember: it’s better to test small and smart than to spend big without a strategy.

2. The Webinar Drop-Off Reality Check
If you’re running webinars (live or evergreen), here’s something important to know: on average, only about 30-40% of registrants will watch your entire presentation. That’s normal! What this means for your funnel:

Don’t expect everyone who registers to make it to your pitch Consider creating a “highlights” version for busy people Extend your email nurture sequence for those who don’t watch (these people need more relationship-building before they’ll buy).

This isn’t a flaw in your marketing—it’s just human behavior. The key is designing your funnel to accommodate different levels of engagement.

3. Cookie Banners Might Be Killing Your Conversions
This might seem small, but it’s having a huge impact for many businesses right now: those cookie consent banners that take over the entire screen are conversion killers. I recently saw a case where sales dropped dramatically after implementing an intrusive cookie banner. When visitors couldn’t even see the sales page before having to make a choice about cookies, bounce rates skyrocketed.

Quick fix: Use a subtle checkbox or small banner that doesn’t interrupt the user experience. The legal compliance is still there, but without the massive conversion penalty.

One Quick Tip To Try This Week
Look at your top 3 performing organic social media posts from the last month. Put just $1/day behind each one as a "boosted" post or simple ad targeting people similar to your followers. This tiny test often reveals which content themes connect best with cold audiences (which are sometimes different from what your warm audience enjoys). Would love to hear if you implement any of these ideas!

Just hit reply and let me know what you’re testing.

Cheers,

The Litchfields ARE MOVING this June!🏡

In honor of our last military/PCS move, the Litchfields (me and the fam) chose all California spots for our move wish list and the US Coast Guard is sending us to Humboldt County (aka Eureka/Redwood National Park area). We are SO excited to be back in our home state and we are THIS much closer to moving back to southern California and moving into our dream home. I haven't really told a whole lot of people in my personal life so obvs y'all are the first to know. 😉 Anyone live nearby?
